Apple heeft een Software-update uitgebracht voor Panther. Update 10.3.1 lost een aantal problemen op die al vrij snel na de release van Panther opdoken: problemen met FireWire harddisks, FileVault en WebDAV. Mensen die het probleem van dataverlies bij externe FireWire harddisks hebben ondervonden, wordt aangeraden niet alleen deze update uit te voeren maar ook te kijken of er een Firmware update is voor de betreffende harddisk.
