Arstechnica is als eerste op de proppen gekomen met een review van Apple’s nieuwe Mighty Mouse. De nieuwe vierknopsmuis is onderworpen aan de altijd kritische blik van Ars en daarbij is uiteraard vooral op het gebruik van de extra klikmogelijkheden gelet. Met name de scroll ball valt daarbij in de smaak. Over het geheel is de reviewer blij met de extra mogelijkheden, maar vooral ook met de constatering dat de muis ook goed aansluit bij de liefhebbers van de klassies éénknopsmuis:

You would never know, even accidentally, that it wasn’t a one-button mouse unless, well, you knew. If you click both buttons at the same time or just press on the mouse shell altogether, it acts as a left-click. If you click on the right side, you get a contextual menu. Only after loading the software and intentionally clicking on the right side does the contextual menu pop up, and that’s assuming that you’ve changed the Mouse preferences from the default setting to allow the right-click button to do something other than left-click. This allows for a great deal of versatility for one mouse—still allowing one-button users to use it in exactly the same way as before without being much the wiser, and multi-button users to be able to use it in a more productive fashion. This, above all else, is what I believe to be the most significant revelation regarding the Mighty Mouse.[/textquote]
